June 19, 2011 was a very spercial day. Aside from the 150th birthday commemoration of our National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal; our family, like most of the families all over the world, celebrated Father's Day on that day.
We started out this highly anticipated 3rd Sunday of June celebration by attending the Sacrament of the Holy Mass. We went to the Padre Pio Church in Libis, Quezon City. Knowing that Padre Pio has thousands of devotees, we went there an hour before the scheduled mass because we had expected that a lot of families will likewise be there. During the mass, on time of the peace giving/offering, and right after the mass, Bea and I greeted and kissed our man, Papa Jun.;-)
Since it was Jun's day, we let him decide where to have lunch. Jun delightfully suggested Bono Yaki. Bono Yaki Premium Seafood Restaurant is located at the 2nd floor of the same building which houses The Fabric Warehouse and Mercury Drug Store along Libis, Quezon City. Fortunately, even without prior table reservation, we were immediately accommodated.
Initially, though Bea had been to "Eat All You Can" restaurants/hotels on numerous occasions in the past, she was still a bit shy to roam around the buffet tables. She would wait for me to finish my food first to go and get more of her favorite dimsum, chicken barbecue, and Korean beef stew. However, the waiting time had apparently made her crave for more; she eventually went out of her way to go around all by herself for the rest of the time.
Jun repeatedly went back to the buffet table for his most preferred fresh sirloin beef, bacon and pork strips, assorted skewers, prawns, squid, Pink Salmon, Gindara, Yellow Fin Tuna and lot more. Indeed, our man had a lot of fun grilling on the Korean grill pan placed in the middle of our table.
While Jun and Bea were busy with their favorites, I was also enjoying the wide selection of maki, sushi and sashimi.
After lunch, we went to the Eastwood Mall to walk around and digest our full and heavy tummies. We also met several friends happily spending the day with their families in the mall as well.
We ended our day by doing some more walking apiece going to the Robinsons Metro East Mall to do our weekly groceries.
